gals guide to the city: april

this month as brought incredible additions to Nashville, including the opening of Dream in downtown. The Dream encompasses multiple venues, none the same and none to be left unexplored. our tip is to check out the coffee shop, Natura, and snag a custom drink with a photo of your choice printed on the top. we’ve done our logo, our faces, client logos.. it’s a fun party trick. make sure you download the “ripples” app ahead of time so the barista doesn’t hate you. if you’re in the mood for a different kind of cocktail, head to the parlor bar and snag the gin + chronic. we have them replace gin with vodka, but to each their own. the chronic is local cbd - makes for an even more relaxing evening. head to stateside if you’re looking for a meal. the house restaurant is an atrium with high ceilings and beautiful deep green seating. we suggest the tri-tip chimichurri sandwich, but everything we’ve tried has hit the spot. looking for a night out? they’ve got you, too. DLS, or dirty little secret, is an intimate nightclub with a lineup of talent with a secret entry through all saints. not feeling the club vibe? head next door to snitch, the upscale dive bar, and snag a craft cocktail. we’re leaving out all of their weekly events - everything you don’t want to miss.

looking for good company and better food? head to monell’s in germantown. we don’t just go at anytime, though - we tend to sway towards the midnight breakfast on saturday. confused? don’t be. monell’s is a family style all you can eat. when you arrive, they’ll seat you at a community table and tell you “pass to the left, phones away”. then you’ll receive bowl after bowl: cinnamon rolls, biscuits and gravy, sausage and bacon, eggs, grits, fried chicken, cinnamon apples… it goes on. the entire meal costs you about $17 and you could stay from midnight to 3am if you want to. trust us.

venture + unplug

we’ve been checking out leiper’s fork lately. it’s a historic area about 30-40 minutes outside of nashville. you’ll see the two old cars and know you’re there. LF is full of cute boutiques, the original puckett’s, fire pits, art galleries and even a record store. it’s a fun spot to get out of the city for a few and to find some new goods for your home. plus, justin timberlake lives out that direction so maybe you’ll get lucky.

for the gram

winkylux has a pop up in the gulch - check it out while it lasts. not sure what winkylux is? they’re a makeup line that basically sets up their store with the coolest activations that are totally instagrammable.

grab a drink

looking for a place to enjoy the weather and enjoy a decent brew? head to bearded iris brewing in germantown. you can sit inside with the checkered floor and chandeliers, or enjoy outdoor seating in the sun. they also have games for groups to play. avoid this spot if you don’t like IPAs - that’s what they’re known for.
